The winds were roaring high.

Her palms were far from dry!

Flying on some unknown freeway,

Both had so much to say.

She sensed him move towards her.

Close enough to hold her.

She could hear his heartbeat loud.

Louder than the wind speeding by.

The dark roads, the dim lights,

Flashy cars, as they drove by.

One hand on the steering wheel

The other interlocked with his.

The cold breeze didn’t stop her from holding on to him.

The space wasn’t big enough to accommodate their hymn.

There was a sense of assurance,

There was a promise that remained unheard.

With miles gone, and many yet to go.

The destination was a no show.

The journey so mild,

The music made it a delight.

Let me know what you thought about Drive away…

Always be kind!
